Having a great time in Destin!

On Saturday afternoon Andrey heard the ice cream truck coming through the neighborhood! He ran after it and got him to stop at the beach house. MY HERO! We enjoyed some great ice cream treats -







On Saturday evening we had dinner at Pickles restaurant in Seaside, FL - it was a rainy evening and we watched the Weather Channel give updates about Hurricane Gustav that was headed toward the Louisiana coast -





On Sunday afternoon we had a great time playing putt-putt golf, riding "race cars" and doing some shopping, especially at the HUGE Bass Pro Shop in Destin :) I loved the aquarium inside!

Sand, Snorkeling, and the Sea

On Saturday, August 30, we enjoyed a great morning at the beach. The water was like a swimming pool! It was really "the calm before the storm." I wrote my name in the sand and built a sand castle while Andrey and Daddy snorkled.

First Time at the Beach

We left on Friday, August 29 for Destin, Florida! Mama and Daddy picked us up from school and we drove to Panama City Beach first, where we went out on the beach for a short while before driving into Destin. Andrey loved it!

Makin' Waves in Destin

On Sunday, August 31, Mama and Andrey went down to the beach for an early-morning walk. The waves were perfect, and Andrey had a great time scaring away hurricane Gustav :)

We went down to the beach on the morning of Monday, September 1............and it wasn't there. Waves caused by Hurricane Gustav were crashing onto the shore - it was an amazing sight.
